Swim Team Volunteers Needed!!
May 22nd
Dear Hurricane Parents,
We are ready for another fun and exciting summer swim season! Most of you know that for each meet we need parent volunteers to help run the meet. This is very important as we cannot run a meet without the necessary timers, etc. Each team at the swim meet is responsible for filling half of the positions required. The Home Team will have more positions to fill due to concessions, etc. When you sign up, you are only responsible for working either 1st half or 2nd half. Only one parent volunteer from a family is needed. We understand if a parent is traveling and you have infants, etc. which may make this hard to do.
Please see the below list of Position Descriptions if you have any questions regarding what is involved. All positions are easy, but if you have questions, let us know and we can help you select a position that will work best for you.
To sign up for a position, go to the swim team website:
On the left, click on “Swim Meets”. This will give you a list of our 5 swim meets this summer. For each swim meet, the large V will take you to the Volunteer signup page. From here, you can select a position. Make sure you “SAVE” at the bottom of the screen.
Thank you to all the “seasoned” parents who help make the swim team a success every season. The swim team appreciates your help! Please let us know if you have questions.

| Runner | Gathers time sheets from Timers and Place Judges and takes to computer table; continuous with each event |
| Scorer | Assists computer people with tallying the event times for each swimmer |
| Stationary Lane - Deep only | Using the "Heat Sheet" as their schedule, this person takes the swimmers from the Bull Pen person and makes sure the swimmers are lined up correctly and the correct swimmer is on the block at the right time; also helps to remind the younger swimmers of what stroke they are swimming for that event. |
| Timer | Using the "Heat Sheet" and the electronic timers, this person times the event and writes down the swimmers time for that event. |
